Abstract
Ajinomoto Foods Europe has launched a Prawn Gyoza to add to its range, sitting alongside the chicken, vegetable, duck and five vegetable flavours.

The new gyoza has a balanced prawn flavour with carrots to add a crunchy texture and mushrooms.

The authentic Japanese recipe incorporates beetroot powder to give the pastry a unique pink hue so it is easily distinguished from other flavours in the range and adds colour to plates.

Prepared from frozen, they will take under five minutes to pan fry, steam or deep fry.

They are ideal as an appetiser, small plate, bar snack, or as part of a sharing platter and come in cartons of 10x600g bags, with 30 pieces per bag.

Aimee Davidson, channel marketing manger at Ajinomoto Foods Europe, said: “With consumers looking to enjoy more authentic exotic flavours and experiment with different meal formats, gyoza are easily incorporated into a variety of dishes from side dishes and bar snacks to mains and can help venues offer dinners a new experience reminiscent of a global street market.

"Easy and quick to serve, gyoza are incredibly popular in Japan and great for venues looking to tap into the trend for street food or experiment with a Japanese concept.

“Made from an authentic recipe and with a delicate pink colour our prawn gyoza is the latest addition to the range and offers restaurants more choice and are a great addition to seafood themed sharing platters.”
