Lotus Biscoff love spreads to Krispy Kreme doughnuts

‘Little red biscuit’ brand Lotus Biscoff has teamed up with Krispy Kreme to launch the Krispy Kreme Lotus Caramelised Biscoff Doughnut, available from this week.

The doughnut is filled with a Lotus Caramelised biscuit spread Kreme before being iced with a Biscoff biscuit and spread and topped with Biscoff biscuit crumb and white chocolate shavings.

The product will be available in over 500 Tesco Extra stores, as well as all Krispy Kreme stores nationwide for a limited period from January 26th.

Frances Booth, category marketing manager at Lotus Bakeries, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Krispy Kreme has chosen to partner with Lotus Biscoff and are even more thrilled that they have decided to jointly brand the doughnut to feature the Biscoff name. It’s a significant step for the brand as an ingredient and one which we will look to exploit further in 2015.”

Alison Reeves, marketing manager at Krispy Kreme, said: “Krispy Kreme development chefs were looking for a product that could feature as part of the Kreme as well as be included on top of the doughnut. The fact that Biscoff is available as both a spread as well as biscuit crumb, meant that it fulfilled their criteria completely.

“After understanding the loyal following that Biscoff has across all its products, it made sense that the brand featured in the name of the Krispy Kreme doughnut itself.”

To celebrate the launch, Lotus Biscoff is challenging chefs to create recipes of their own utilising either Biscoff biscuit or Biscoff spread - or both!
