Top tips for reading CVs

17th Nov 2011 - 00:00
Abstract
You receive scores of CV’s to your job advert but how do you choose which people to ask for an interview?
Make some notes on each CV according to the following: *Length of service and stability – have they had multiple jobs in a short space of time? Are there any unexplained gaps in the CV? *Career progression – is their career moving forward or do they appear to take one step forward and two steps back? *Relative CV's – Is their recent career history relevant to the position that they are applying for and do they have the necessary qualifications *Organised and easy to read – is the CV easy to read and well organised? Lack of attention to detail on the CV may be indicative of their character *What achievements have they had/ *Address – if too far away the commute may make them leave after a few months By Grant Tookey, Fresh Catering Jobs www.freshcateringjobs.co.uk
