Jamie Oliver’s Good School Food Awards crown 6 winners
Abstract
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver set up the Good School Food Awards, which has announced six winners, to celebrate the ‘sheer brilliance, ingenuity and determination’ of those working in the education system to bring good food to children.

The Good School Food Awards were open to chefs, catering teams and campaigns putting brilliant food on children’s plates. The judges for the 2026 Good School Food Awards included Jamie Oliver, Mary Berry and Joe wicks.

The School Leader Food Hero Award went to Sharon Hunter from Mearns Primary School in Scotland. Driven by a mission to break the reliance on processed convenience foods, Sharon ‘transformed’ a standard classroom into a fully equipped teaching kitchen and made cooking a core part of daily life.

Arthur Hawkesworth from Combe Pafford School in Torquay secured the Food Educator of the Year Award. He has transformed The Yellow Frog school café into a restaurant-level training kitchen where pupils with moderate learning difficulties and autism are finding their true calling.

The duo Kim Williams and Annie Keogh from Pine Green Academy in Wolverhampton share a fundamental belief: no family in their community should ever go without help when they need it. Together they won the Kindness and Community Award.

The Sun’s School Chef Champion went to Tracy Nwabia from Spa Secondary School in London. She runs a school kitchen where healthy meat-free food has become the norm and through her efforts she has ‘transformed’ the food culture into something ‘truly exciting’.

Justyna Pawlus from Tor Bridge Primary School in Plymouth won the Eat Well, Move Well Award. Justyna’s home-cooked meals provide the vital, constant fuel that keeps pupils focused in the classroom and energised to take on the school’s line-up of outdoor adventures.

This Morning’s Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to Phyllis Levi from Blackwood Primary School in Wales. For more than 45 years, Phyllis has dedicated her life to Blackwood Primary School and at the heart of all of it has been her love for food, her incredible warmth, and her belief in its power to transform lives.
