Apetito enters into university market with Loughborough collaboration
Abstract
Meals provider Apetito has taken its first step in ‘transforming’ university catering with the launch of its new Hot Grab & Go concept pilot at Loughborough University.

Through Apetito’s ‘Hot 2 Go’ service, staff and students can now access to hot, nutritious meals across campus, giving them greater convenience and choice wherever they study, work or socialise.

This concept delivers a diverse, quality menu from even the smallest spaces, enabling their catering team to complement their existing offerings with freshly prepared hot meals in smaller outlets.

Apetito’s pre-prepared multi-portion range helps university catering teams simplify operations, improve consistency and drive commercial performance, while serving large crowds with ease.

The range offers a wide variety of dishes to suit different tastes, preferences and dietary requirements, including many options free from the 14 main allergens.

Clare Hunt, head of business development at Apetito, said: “We know that amongst the student population there is a real growing demand for convenient and nutritious food options and our ‘Hot 2 Go’ service does exactly that. The insights gained through our work with Loughborough will help Apetito support universities in transforming the student food experience across campus.

“We’re proud to be offering an innovative service which supports university catering teams to deliver quality meals across the whole campus, whilst reducing complexity, increasing choice, supporting sustainability ambitions and delivering strong commercial returns. We are passionate about bringing decades of experience from other sectors to enhance meal operations at universities, supporting catering teams and not replacing them.”
