Caterers encouraged to take advantage of Terinex initiative

Caterers have until 31st January 2013 to take advantage of the Terinex’ “Think Outside the Bag” (TOTB) initiative that’s been designed to highlight the creative possibilities of oven bags.

Consumer research shows there is overwhelming support for chefs that use oven bags in meal preparation – particularly among the 40% of consumers who have had their roasts ruined by dry meat cooked the traditional way, with 66% adding that the experience would stop them returning to the outlet.

The research also revealed that 85% of consumers want to cut fat and oil in their diet and 77% of people would prefer chefs to use healthier cooking methods such as oven bags. Some 73% said they would not care if an oven bag was used if the meal tasted better!

Mark Hallam, marketing manager, Terinex, said: "This is the beginning of a new culinary era as more chefs start to recognise the key role Terinex oven bags can play in a busy commercial kitchen. I urge caterers to claim their free sample soon as time is running out to enter our Café Royal competition and discover why our oven bags are becoming an essential piece of catering equipment.”
