Catermasters raises over £16k for local hospice charity

8th Jul 2011 - 00:00
Abstract
Workplace catering specialist, Catermasters, has raised over £16,000 for its local hospice charity after inviting some of its clients, suppliers and staff to a fundraising golf day in Stratford-upon-Avon earlier this week.
The annual fundraiser was held in aid of The Myton Hospices - a group of three hospices that each provide specialist palliative care of the highest quality for terminally ill adult patients in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby. Sara McGreavy, the local athlete that Catermasters is sponsoring in her bid to qualify for London 2012, was a special guest at the golf day. Catermasters has now raised in a total of over £40,000 for The Myton Hospices since it hosted its first golf day in 2008. Hannah Morris, The Myton Hospices Corporate Fundraising Development Manager, said: "We need to raise in excess of £6.7 million each year through voluntary income to ensure we can deliver our range of services free of charge to the local community and we can't do any of that without the support of businesses like Catermasters. "The Catermasters team organise a very slick event and it's great to see the fundraising total increase each year. We're thrilled with the support we continue to receive from Catermasters and sincerely thank everyone involved." Nigel Johnson, joint managing director of Catermasters, added: "Our golf day continues to grow in size and success and that's testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of those that organise it and those from the trade that attend and give so generously."
