This year is the tenth anniversary of Meals & More, the charity launched by Brakes in 2015 to support the provision of meals at clubs during the school holidays across the UK. Each year Meals & More has seen growth in its reach, with the charity providing more than 2.5 million meals to children and families in 2024.
Guests were welcomed by Paul Nieduszynski, Sysco GB chief executive. He highlighted the charity’s progression over the ten years and shared with guests that despite the reach already achieved, the need to support children across the UK remained.
Richard Cooper, the Meals & More Chair of Trustees, spoke of the determination to do more and the goal of supporting one million meals per year by 2030.
In closing, operations director Peter McGrath spoke of the difference the charity has made over the ten years. He said: “For those attending the clubs, especially the parents or carers, the ‘More’ provides not only a place to meet, eat and have fun activities, but also one of security, dignity, opportunity, and hope - something we’d all wish for the children we know and love.”
