Charlton House wins contract with Ladbrokes

29th May 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Charlton House has won a catering contract with the world's largest fixed odds betting company, Ladbrokes PLC.
In a deal worth £450,000 in annual turnover, the independent caterers took over from the incumbents, Yes Dining, on 23rd May to provide a breakfast, lunch and hospitality service to 1,000 Ladbrokes employees at the company's corporate headquarters in Harrow. The service runs on a seven-day-a-week basis and will not be without its challenges, as Alison Tyler, managing director of Charlton House, explained: "Ladbrokes' corporate headquarters is situated on Imperial Way in Harrow, just a stone's throw from the High Street, so the catering operation will need a strong marketing and quality focus. Value for money will also be key. "Ladbrokes undertook a very thorough tender process as they wanted to get it right for their hard working staff. We were fortunate that a number of their executive team had already experienced our catering service at other local sites and also in the City. It just proves that delivery - and not promises - is what counts." Commenting on Charlton House's appointment, John Edwards, HR director for Ladbrokes PLC, said:" We were keen to work with a caterer who could deliver excellent, on-going support and who could strike the right balance between quality and value for money. We are confident that Charlton House's food standards, along with their enthusiastic and bespoke approach, will meet the needs of our dynamic mix of on-site staff." Other clients include The RIBA, The Law Society and the corporate headquarters of BUPA, Sony (United Kingdom) Ltd and Network Rail.
