Abstract
Burger King has signed an agreement with food and beverage operator Autogrill which sees the fast food brand return to France after an absence of 15 years.

Under the new agreement, Burger King will open across the country’s travel outlets - first at Marseille Airport  and another in the Reims Champagne motorway service area.

Leo Leon, vice president and general manager, Mediterranean Division, Burger King EMEA said: “We are confident that Autogrill will help re-introduce the Burger King brand to French and international travellers looking for high quality, tasty and good value food and the unique taste of our flame grilled burgers.”

The new restaurants in France will be offering customers the iconic Whopper sandwich and customers will also have the opportunity to personalise their meals with the “Have It Your Way”, formula. Alongside the wide menu range, new products are currently also under development to meet the expectations of French consumers.

During the past year, Burger King Worldwide has pursued its vision of international expansion by creating strategic franchise arrangements in emerging markets.

In the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa), the brand is expanding into some of the fastest growing economies worldwide – Russia and most recently via a joint venture agreement in South Africa - in addition to China and Brazil globally.
