The Crown Foundation hits fundraising milestone

3rd Jan 2012 - 00:00
Abstract
The Crown Foundation, the Crown Group’s charitable arm, has hit its fundraising milestone on its third birthday.
The Foundation, set up in 2008, was initially created to support a number of charitable causes close to the hearts of many of the company's directors and staff. The Foundation has reached the £150k milestone through the fundraising efforts of its staff which have included activities such as the climbing of Mount Kilimanjaro, right the way through to annual awareness raising events at Cartier International Polo, selling cakes at London's Leadenhall Market and family fun days at Thorpe Park. To celebrate its third birthday, the group ran a competition for its staff to design a new Foundation logo. The winning design was then used as a basis for the development of a new website. The new site, aimed at staff, clients and customers, will encourage further donations and host news and photos from the various fundraising activities. Charles Beer, managing partner, Crown Group, said: "The Crown Foundation was born out of a desire to give back, and we are extremely proud that over the last three years we have managed to offer our chosen charities substantial financial support, helping them to make a real difference to people's lives across UK. "Staff from the Group's businesses have helped make the Foundation a success, so we wanted to honour their commitment by enabling them to contribute to the new look of the Foundation going forward. "We are very excited about the potential of the Foundation, and will look to strengthen the partnerships and support we have for our efforts over the next year."
