Abstract
Rice company Tilda is calling on young chefs to enter its annual 2019 Young Chef of the Year competition, before the deadline closes 14 December.

Open to chefs aged 21 and under, the contest aims to show “how innovative and versatile rice can be, helping chefs to cater for a wide range of food trends.”

Reigning champion Sean Cleveland commented: “(Young Chef of the Year) is a great experience - the pressure of a live competition gives you confidence to take back into the kitchen.

“I would recommend chefs enter as it’s a fantastic learning curve and a valuable experience, not only competing in the Salon Culinaire but to see what other chefs are doing. It is very inspirational.”

The live final will take place 23 January 2019 at Salon Culinare, the Foodservice Show (NEC Birmingham).
