The live webinar will run from 1.30pm-2.15pm and anyone interested in hearing from Tessa is invited to register to join.
Tessa will provide an update on the ‘Good Food Cycle’ framework and the work underway to deliver a comprehensive food strategy. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
The Government announced its new ‘Good Food Cycle’ in July. It identifies ten priority outcomes needed to build a thriving food sector while tackling challenges from rising obesity rates to climate change impacts on production, representing a pivotal milestone in the Government’s work to develop a comprehensive food strategy:
- An improved food environment that supports healthier and more environmentally sustainable food sales
- Access for all to safe, affordable, healthy, convenient and appealing food options
- Conditions for the food sector to thrive and grow sustainably, including investment in innovation and productivity, and fairer more transparent supply chains
Since the ‘Good Food Cycle’ was announced a cabinet reshuffle has seen Steve Reed replaced as Defra secretary by Emma Reynolds, while Daniel Zeichner’s place as minister has been taken by veteran Labour MP Dame Angela Eagle.
This webinar is supported by IGD, in its role as co-secretariat to the Food Strategy Advisory Board. Register for the webinar here.
