Abstract
ISS Facility Services, Education, one of the UK's fastest growing education catering specialist, has won four multi-million pound contracts in the sector and has also expanded its reach into the north of England.
The five year contracts, at a total value of £25m, are with The Colchester Institute, Slough Borough Council, York City Council and Merton Secondary Schools PFI. The Colchester Institute contract involved transforming the catering operations over the summer of 2010, and the Slough Borough Council contract will provide outsourced catering to Primary Schools. ISS will deliver the schools with the Food For Life Bronze Menu, a scheme that aims to "revolutionise" school meals. Meanwhile the Merton Schools contract sees ISS deliver its Meal Soups and Bowl Food concepts, and The York City Council will supply 44 primary and four secondary schools with fully outsourced catering services, which were previously conducted by a local Direct Services Organisation (DSO).
