Abstract
EBLEX's 'England's Best Steak Pie' competition has revealed the winners of its two categories; Independent retail butcher or caterer and manufacturer.
The winners are Mellors Farm Butchers from Nottinghamshire with their steak pie (Independent retail butcher or caterer category), and Dunkleys from Northamptonshire with their British beef and Abbot ale pie (Manufacturer). But both companies will have to wait until the Meat Management Awards in London on 8th June to find out if they have been crowned the overall winner. Hugh Judd, EBLEX foodservice project manager, said: "Judging all the pies at the final was a really big challenge but the pies from Mellors Farm Butchers and Dunkleys were delicious; they definitely deserved to win their retrospective categories. "They now have to wait patiently until the Meat Management Awards on 8th June to find out whose pie will be crowned 'England's Best'. We wish the both of them the very best of luck!"
