ESS wins £1.6m contract with Transocean

ESS Support Services Worldwide (ESS), the specialist offshore and remote division of Compass Group, has been awarded a new three-year contract with Transocean.

The contract, which will commence in October 2013, is worth £1.6 million and will see ESS providing catering, hospitality and vending services at the new Transocean UK North Sea head office in Aberdeen. Compass has provided catering, hotel services and facility management onboard 13 offshore Transocean units in the UK North Sea for 10 years. This deal is ESS’s first onshore contract with the company.

Chris Garside, managing director of ESS at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “We are delighted that Transocean have chosen to award us with this contract and are extremely pleased to extend this partnership. Graeme Ure, North Sea division financial manager from Transocean added: “After a competitive tender, Compass was selected due to its excellent bid submission and presentation, timely co-operation and proven ability to deliver offshore.”
