Essential Cuisine unveils Covid-19 Catering Guide for public sector chefs

Abstract
Stocks, gravies and sauces company Essential Cuisine has launched a free, downloadable guide focused on waste, nutrition, hygiene, practical menu planning and recipes to help make food go further.

The bitesize guide has been created by the manufacturer’s brigade of development chefs, who have many colleagues and customers currently trying cope with the impact of Covid-19 in the sector.

Business development chef Robin Dudley said: “Now, more than ever, these unsung heroes need industry support.

“It’s clear that the spread of Covid-19 is having a huge impact on society and in particular placing unprecedented demands on catering and health provision.

“For chefs who need to continue to provide food there are a whole host of challenges to overcome, from increased demand, longer lead times getting hold of ingredients and practical hygiene steps.

“As this industry is so close to our hearts, we wanted to combine some useful advice and short-term ideas to help chefs adapt and cope with the current operational challenges.

“We, as a society and an industry, are in new and uncharted territory – as a passionate supporter of working kitchens, we’re doing everything that we can to help ease just some of the pressures.”

The Essential team has sent out almost 200 care packs containing product and practical ideas to chefs across both profit and cost sectors.
