FCSI Allied Member Marios named ‘Director of the Year’

26th Apr 2012 - 00:00
Abstract
Marios Poumpouris, managing director of catering equipment supplier Chiller Box Ltd, has been named Director of the Year (for business with annual revenues up to £4.99m) at the London and South East Director of the Year Awards.
The awards, run by the Institute of Directors, aim to recognise the very best operators in the business world. Marios, a member of the Foodservice Society Consultants International (FCSI) said: "I'm delighted to receive an IoD Award, which recognises not only my efforts, but those of the team. "Without them, we wouldn't have grown out of the bedroom where we began eight years ago to become the successful company we are today." Rodger Broad, director for the IoD in the south east, explained: "These annual awards recognise the hard work, inspiration and management skills of business leaders in a wide variety of sectors. "We are pleased and encouraged that we had 250 directors being put forward this year, despite these challenging economic times. From these we had more than 100 entries to consider for the awards. "Marios fought off stiff competition to be given this award and is a deserved winner." Poumpouris received the award at a formal reception and gala dinner at the Landmark Hotel, London. The Oscars-style awards ceremony was hosted by Channel 5's Emma Crosby, with broadcaster and former MP Gyles Brandreth as the keynote speaker. Chiller Box supplies and installs commercial kitchens for restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, hotels and schools across the UK, supplying catering equipment and refrigeration, as well as air conditioning systems.
