Abstract
A programme of charity activities helped SSP UK, the food travel experts, reach a fundraising milestone of £100k for children’s charity ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’.

Staff took part in a host of Wish Friday activities including fancy dress at Manchester Airport, children’s entertainment at East Midlands Airport and live music at both Liverpool John Lennon and Belfast International Airports.

Wish Fairy Sam from the charity, was joined by Ambassadors Summer and Thomas, to receive a cheque from SSP UK Air representatives Cathy Granby and Rob Allen at Manchester Airport. Summer and Thomas, who both suffer from a serious medical condition, were delighted to join in the celebrations.

Jackie Smith from SSP UK Air said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a worthy cause as When You Wish Upon a Star, a fantastic charity which is all about creating lasting memories for the families of sick children.

“It seems a great fit to support them at airports across the UK, where great memories are created with the start of every new holiday, and I am really pleased that our airport teams got behind Wish Fridays with so much enthusiasm.

“We’re already planning a host of other activity in support of the charity next year, including a tuk-tuk coffee cart which we hope will raise £50,000 visiting all of our airport contracts.”
