Compass Foodbuy Elis partnership deal
Abstract
Foodbuy, the Compass-owned procurement organisation with a £1bn budget, has formed a ‘strategic partnership’ with international laundry and uniforms provider Elis, in a five-year deal.

Elis will support Foodbuy by working with its clients, including Foodbuy’s parent company and largest client, Compass Group UK & Ireland, to provide a managed textile service. The partnership follows a three-month tender process.

Elis will provide hospitality laundry services, including rental and maintenance of chefs’ uniforms, kitchen porter uniforms, table linen, event linen, kitchenware and laundry services for more than 600 locations in the UK, including corporate catering, schools, universities and sports & leisure sites.

Ian Murphy, managing director of Foodbuy said: “We’re really excited to be forming a strategic partnership with Elis. They’re a multi-service provider which means they can accommodate a wide range of requests, but they also offer tailor-made solutions.

“This means we can provide our clients with a more efficient service, saving them both time and money, whilst helping them focus on their core businesses.”

Sam Morton, commercial director at Elis, added: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Foodbuy’s partner to provide chefs’ wear and linen rental and laundry services to its clients, including Compass.

“Our network of industrial laundries and delivery fleets, across the UK and Ireland, together with our use of most efficient processes and technologies, means we can deliver the reliable and flexible service that catering businesses require.”
