Foodservice wholesaler kff raises £3,000 for Meningitis Now
Abstract
A team of volunteers from Kent-based foodservice wholesaler kff has completed the South Downs Way challenge in aid of Meningitis Now.

The team raised almost £3,000 in memory of Mia, the eldest daughter of kff colleague Alex Basford, who passed away from Bacterial Meningitis just over two years ago on 5th January 2023, her 20th Birthday.

The South Downs Way is a 100-mile route that stretches from Winchester to Brighton across a ridgeline that dips through villages and across roads. It is one of the most challenging 100 mile stretches in the UK as its total incline is more than 12,500 ft in total.

Mark Taylor, kff’s managing director, said: “I’m very proud of how the team has rallied round to support Alex and raise funds for this amazing cause. It was a real team effort with the key accounts team walking the route in less than 24 hours and our development chef even drove the support van. A massive well done to everyone.”

As well as a comprehensive frozen and ambient product range KFF now also supplies fruit, vegetables, and meat, as well as fresh and frozen fish. The sponsored challenge raised funds for Meningitis Now, a charity dedicated to fighting meningitis and supporting those affected by it.
