Abstract
John Savage, Foster Refrigerator’s recently retired sales director, was this month announced as CEDA’s ‘Industry Personality of the Year’, at CEDA’s 40th anniversary conference.
John, who joined Foster in 1969, is one of the refrigeration industry's best liked and most respected personalities, and this was recognised by the award which is voted for by CEDA members. "I am surprised and extremely flattered to receive this award", said John. "This is a real honour for me, as there is nothing more heart warming than to be recognised in this way by the very people with whom I have been working amongst for so many years." As part of the awards celebration, the guests were treated to a 10-minute presentation on John's life, accompanied by pictures that wonderfully represented John's business career, as well as a glimpse into his family life. Paul Veried, managing director at Foster, said: "John has occupied various senior roles within Foster including UK sales director and export sales director. He has gained an industry-wide reputation for his breadth of knowledge across all areas of the commercial refrigeration industry and was for many years well-known as Foster's official spokesperson. We are immensely proud to have had him on our team for so long."
