Abstract
Full Time Meals, a collaboration between child food poverty campaigner Marcus Rashford and chef Tom Kerridge, has unveiled 11 nutritious recipes for families to cook.

The @fulltimemeals Instagram page states: “No child should ever have to go to bed hungry. Today, far too many do. We’re stopping hunger in its tracks.”

The recipes only use a few ingredients and don't require much cooking skills so that the whole family could join in the cooking sessions. Each recipe contains an ingredients list, method and video to help families replicate the dish in their own homes.

The Full Time Meals recipes include:

  • Chicken satay stir fry
  • Tortilla pizzas
  • Shakshuka tray bake
  • Creamy chicken pie
  • Kettle omelette
  • Smashed peas on toast
  • Homemade hash browns
  • Mega fish finger butty
  • Got dog pasta
  • Ham and pea risotto
  • Zingy wings

Kerridge said: “Marcus has been doing a phenomenal job in shining a bright light on the nation’s child poverty issue and continues to fight for systematic change and Government support. His formation of the Child Food Poverty Taskforce has brought together the biggest players in the British food industry, to stand united in finding a long-term sustainable framework to combat child food poverty across the UK.

“This is a cause that is close to my heart. Whilst Marcus [and I] are from different generations, we share a lot of similarities in our journey to success. I also grew up in a single parent household on a council estate, my mum worked two jobs and, although I never went without food, times were difficult, and money was tight.

“It’s heart breaking to think that 4.2 million children in the UK are living in poverty, no child should go to bed hungry but today, far too many do. We live in the third largest economy in the world – it’s time to call full time on child food poverty.”
