Health and well-being online
Abstract
A new open resource with information and guidance to help people make healthier lifestyle choices has been launched by catering and services giant Compass.

Compass Group UK and Ireland, the UK’s largest food and support services firm, has launched a website to provide valuable expert information and advice on health and well-being.

Nicky Martin, head of nutrition at Compass, said: “We are very excited about the launch of the new Nourished Life website, which aims to give expert information on core health and well-being topics to the wider consumer market.

“As a leading foodservices provider, we are keen to share the breadth of knowledge we have from our talented chefs and nutritionists through a digital resource that is free and easy to access for all.”

He said Compass served about three million customers a day and, as part of its commitment to support people in making healthier choices, the business had created the ‘Nourished Life’ website.

“It aims to provide the wider consumer market with top tips, access to recipes and information on key health and well-being topics,” Martin Added.

“It focuses on a number of key areas, including food and nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, recipes, and a section where users will be able to directly interact with Compass health and nutrition experts.”

The website has been launched following the release of Compass Group UK and Ireland’s 2016 Corporate Responsibility Report, which maps out the company’s programme of activity towards achieving ‘a sustainable future’ and ‘creating a positive social impact’.

It outlines commitments the business is making in each of four areas: sourcing, people, environment and health.

It incorporates Compass’s 2020 Health Strategy, which includes the commitment to launch the new consumer-facing website addressing health and well-being topics.
