She has over 25 years of experience working for the NHS within Catering and Dietetics in Nottinghamshire and was a key member of the NHSE expert panel for the Hospital Food Review.
Commenting on her appointment, Strawther said: “I am keen to push forward with the new development member category that has now been through all the levels of approval including the AGM, this new membership was part of Iain's ambition and the HCA strategic aims, ensuring our industry continues to thrive by providing support and development opportunities for our teams.
“We also have the newly launched Level 2 Award for Catering on Health and Social Care. This is a joint collaboration between the HCA and NACC. I'm really pleased that we have this course available for our catering teams and we hope it provides the skills and knowledge to confidently cater for the many complex dietary requirements in our sector.
“Interestingly the national team is predominately made up of females, which may be an HCA first! This is a great showcase to promote women in leadership and I'm looking forward to working with the team for the next two years.”
