Abstract
The Hospital Caterers Association celebrated star performers within the sector at its President’s Dinner, with a number of longstanding servants of the organisation honoured for their work over many years.

The Wilma Wilkie Outstanding Service Award was presented to Janice Gillan, a former HCA chair and the forum lead for this year’s Leadership and Development Forum taking place in Scotland.

The dinner, a highlight of the annual conference and exhibition event, also saw the HCA’s Oxford Branch win the Chairman’s Choice Award, while there was recognition for two other association stalwarts – retiring HCA President Lord Philip Hunt won the Special Recognition Award and Karoline Rowlands was awarded the Special Contribution Award.

Caterer of The Year Award went to Ron Strachan of the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, the Catering Service Award was presented to Adam Sheppard at the Gosport War Memorial Hospital, and the Leadership Excellence Award was picked up by Sian Langford at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Trust.

The other winners on the night were Clodagh Hastings at Gransha Hospital in Northern Ireland, who was awarded the Rising Star Award, supplier NH Case that was presented with the Trade Stand Award, and charity the Royal Highland Education Trust that was the beneficiary of the £3,800 raised through a charity raffle at the dinner.
