Hospitality industry recognised in Queen's New Year's Honours List 2012

Abstract
The UK catering and hospitality industry has been recognised by the Queen in her 2012 New Year's Honours list.
The list celebrates those who make an outstanding contribution to their sector. An OBE went to William 'Willy' Bauer, former Savoy Wentworth Group and Westbury hotelier. Meanwhile MBEs went to catering consultant Vic Laws; school meals policy advisor Jeannette Orrey, Food for Life Partnership, for services to food in schools; and Anna Lise Hansen, chef proprietor of the Modern Pantry for services to the restaurant industry (chef Peter Gordon's ex partner at Providores Restaurant). Other achievements included Paul Gould, executive head chef, NEC Group, Birmingham, for his services to hospitality, Ms Ruth Elizabeth Evans, chief executive, Brewing, Food and Beverage Industry Suppliers Association for services to exports, Maurice Victor Laws, catering consultant for services to the UK hospitality sector and Bajloor Rashid, restaurateur and president, Bangladesh Caterers Association for services to Bangladeshi Catering.
