Abstract
Vicky Williams, HR director for Compass Group UK & Ireland, has made it into the Women 1st Top 100 Club – joining the most influential women in hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism.
Williams was one of 30 inducted into the Top 100 Club at the Women 1st Shine Awards dinner on 19 June, held at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in Knightsbridge, London. Hosted by radio and television presenter Emma Forbes, the awards celebrated the achievements of women across the hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism industries and businesses and individuals that are leading the way in supporting female development and retention. After joining Compass over 20 years ago as HR manager for a newly won multi-site contract, Williams has held a number of roles within the business including HR director for the newly-formed Restaurant Associates brand, and HR director for recruitment and learning and development. In one year, Williams and her team recruited 14,000 people and developed training innovations such as the award-winning 'One Compass Welcome' online induction programme, as well as ensuring the function passed its first Ofsted inspection. She is now responsible for Restaurant Associates, Eurest Services, In Store, local sites and Quadrant businesses, plus the sales and retention functions. Williams commented: "It is a huge honour to join this group of industry leading females. I'm passionate that the development and promotion of women is critical to the hospitality industry and am delighted that I will be playing a part in helping other women achieve this."
