Imperial War Museum North and Levy Leisure achieve Food for the Brain accreditation

Abstract
As its official catering partner, Levy Leisure helped Imperial War Museum North (IWM North) achieve the Food for the Brain accreditation for its ‘high standards of nutritional excellence.’

With a predominantly plant-based menu, dishes centre around raw vegetables and probiotics, and are designed to boost mental health, well-being, concentration and performance.

 

‘Balanced’ options such as probiotic yoghurt with linseed, hemp, sunflower, pumpkin and chia seeds; chargrilled courgette, baby samphire, red chard and pecorino cheese; and free range chicken roasted with garlic, leeks and onions feature heavily.

 

Strategic director at Levy Leisure, Rak Kalidas, commented: “We’re passionate about providing healthy options for our guests and serve meals that are both appealing and nutritious.

 

“We understand the importance of a balanced diet. Through communications and training, we help sustain a culture of nutritional awareness.”

 

Chief executive of the educational charity, Food for the Brain Foundation –promoting the importance of nutrition in mental health and well-being - Jenna Mosimann, added: “Food for the Brain is delighted to award IWM North and its official catering partner Levy Leisure our accreditation.

 

“It recognises that they offer nutritionally, well-balanced menus that support energy, concentration and performance and help promote better mental and physical well-being.”
