Independent caterer Houston & Hawkes funds 50,000 school breakfasts
Abstract
Independent B Corp caterer Houston & Hawkes has funded 50,000 school breakfasts through its work with Magic Breakfast since partnering with the charity in January 2024, supporting children across the UK who are at risk of starting the school day hungry.

Magic Breakfast provides nutritious breakfasts to schoolchildren in need, helping to improve their concentration, wellbeing and learning. Pupils receive breakfast items such as bagels, bread, porridge and milk.

Simon Houston, co-founder of Houston & Hawkes, said: “As a caterer, we completely understand the role food can play in people’s health and wellbeing. Partnering with Magic Breakfast allows us to support a cause that aligns closely with our values. We’re determined to build on this milestone and, working with our clients, aim to fund a further 30,000 school breakfasts by the end of 2026.”

The partnership with Magic Breakfast forms a core part of Houston & Hawkes’ commitment to social value and community impact.

The funding comes from a mix of direct donations by Houston & Hawkes through a coffee contribution scheme as well as funds raised through workplace engagement initiatives across client sites.

Ali Roberts, head of corporate partnerships at Magic Breakfast, added: “With the incredible fundraising efforts from their team, we’ve been able to provide 50,000 breakfasts for children and young people at risk of starting their day hungry.

“A nourishing breakfast helps ensure that children and young people have the fuel they need to learn and thrive. Thank you to the whole team at Houston & Hawkes, your support is so appreciated.”
