Lexington Catering provides food at FM career opportunities event

Organised by IWFM’s Rising FMs Network, and sponsored by Lexington Catering Ltd, the event aimed to introduce young minds to the dynamic opportunities within the facilities management (FM) industry.

In a joint effort to encourage young people to pursue careers in workplace and facilities management Lexington Reception Services, the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) and Lloyd’s partnered to offer a behind-the-scenes tour of Lloyd’s building in the City of London.

Darren Cox, senior facilities & stakeholder manager corporate real estate at Lloyd’s, said: “Recruiting young people into the industry is close to my heart. FM offers so many varied career opportunities and I want to make sure that young people have the same chances I had.”

The rising stars of the FM world got to know their peers while networking and enjoying some ‘fantastic’ food provided by chefs from Lexington Catering.

Set up in 2002, Lexington is a business that works with organisations to support them in providing five star food and service. The team is passionate about creating the ‘best hospitality and guest experience for customers and clients’.

Matt Wood, managing director of Lexington, added: “This was a great opportunity to highlight the range of roles available for young people and anyone new to the industry considering a career in facilities management. FM encompasses multiple options from soft services and facilities assistants to building managers.”
