Lifetime training providers helps industry address Apprenticeship Challenge

The company, which is one of the UK's top ten Apprenticeship providers, is working with a growing number of hospitality businesses to provide training opportunities for an emerging generation of workers. Lifetime works in partnership with a wide range of clients, from single site and regional operators to national brands, to deliver tailor-made training programmes. The aim of the scheme is to improve the standard of industry training through role-relevant, sector-specific Apprenticeships which improve the skills and qualifications of individuals working in hospitality as well as the care, health and fitness sectors. David Grant, business manager at Lifetime, which trains more than 15,000 learners a year, said: "There is growing awareness across the industry that hospitality must address its Apprenticeship challenge if skills are to be nurtured and passed on to the next generation of employees. "Lifetime is the vehicle helping hospitality businesses get government funding for apprentices, enabling young talent to develop and prosper across their establishments in the years ahead. "Apprenticeships offer major rewards for staff in terms of enhanced skills but they also provide tangible benefits for employers in terms of increased operational efficiency, improved staff retention and enhanced customer service. In fact, 92% of employers who employ apprentices believe that Apprenticeships lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce. "Ultimately, a focus on Apprenticeships can help many companies flourish in a highly-competitive business environment when they must deliver top-quality service at all levels. "At a time of sky-high youth unemployment, and growing concern about how this will impact on society going forward, hospitality has a key role to play in terms of offering young people a route into employment and a way of developing their skills so their career can progress.
