Abstract
Innovative caterer Harbour & Jones, which operates in the B&I and venue markets, has announced the appointment of new non-executive director Luke Johnson to its board of directors.

Chairman of Risk Capital Partners and former Chairman of Channel 4, Johnson’s catering credentials include setting up the Strada branded restaurant chain to being credited with the hugely successful growth of Pizza Express.

He is also the part-owner and chairman of Patisserie Valerie, Gail's Artisan Bakery and Feng Sushi.

H&J owners Patrick Harbour and Nathan Jones said: “We’re delighted to be working with Luke.

“Next year we’ll be celebrating a fantastic first 10 years of business and with the help of Luke we look forward to making the next 10 years even stronger.”

Johnson himself added: “It is great to be working with two hospitality pioneers like Patrick and Nathan.

“I met them when I chaired the RSA and I saw first-hand how they are able to transform the food and drink offering for an institution.

“I hope over time to help make their already highly professional organisation even more successful.”

H&J has continued to perform well despite the tricky economic conditions of recent years; at the end of 2012 the company reported a 30% increase in turnover year on year.

Added Jones: “Although we’ve continued to add to our portfolio of clients, we remain a family-based company. The key to success has been keeping to the company’s core values - working closely with clients to create bespoke, imaginative, and most importantly, delicious, catering solutions.”
