Abstract
The hospitality team at Manchester City Football Club have reason to celebrate after seeing a 58% rise in seasonal hospitality bookings for the 2010/11 season compared to this time last year.
The City of Manchester Stadium is undergoing continual improvements thanks to a £1.5m transformation of its corporate hospitality facilities in a bid to deliver "the ultimate match day experience". The club have revealed that early indications show that 85% of City's existing seasonal guests (corporate clients) have already renewed or upgraded their hospitality for the next season and over three quarters of the 68 Platinum Boxes have been allocated with The Citizens and Boardroom Suites proving especially popular. The 68 executive boxes are undergoing refurbishment to Platinum standard which will include a radical makeover of the Legends Lounge and The Boardroom which is described as the clubs "premium dining facility". In what the club promises to be "a first for any Premier League club", over 240 deluxe leather heated seats - once only available to guests in the Director's Box" will be installed in The Boardroom external seating area. Featuring sky blue seats standing 44' tall and warmed to an ambient heat in under two minutes, they are available personalised to seasonal guests who can have their name and business logo hand-stitched under the City crest. Priced between £25,000 and £100,000 they offer "chic styling, walnut furniture, leather upholstered bar stools and a formal and informal configuration available. David Chell, City's head of sales said: "With like for like seasonal sales up per cent, this is one of the clubs finest pre-season sales performances. "Thanks to the clubs increased profile and improved performance, we have seen a marked increase in the number of new clients enquiring about hospitality packages."
