NACC unveils theme for 2025 edition of Training & Development Forum
Abstract
The National Association of Care Catering (NACC) has unveiled its theme for the upcoming Training & Development Forum, which will take place on 1-2nd October at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.

This year’s theme is ‘Future Proofing Your Care Catering Operations’ and will cover everything caterers need to know now and for the future. The NACC Forum will feature more than 50 care related suppliers, several cookery demonstrations and over 20 expert speakers.

The key topics that will be discussed include the importance of central production kitchens to the care sector, sustainability ideas to implement in care homes, the use of artificial intelligence (AI), aspirational menu development as well as eating and drinking with acknowledged risk.

Simon Stenning, founder of Future Foodservice, will host a session titled ‘How Will Britain Eat in the Care Home Catering Market Over the Next Ten Years’. This presentation will explore the developments for the future of care home catering, the key trends, drivers of change and emerging consumer demands.

This ‘Use of AI and Technology in Care Services’ session explores how AI and robotics are transforming care home catering and other operations, highlighting real-world innovations from Europe, South Korea, and Japan. Dr Jane Townson OBE will cover how autonomous kitchen robots, AI-powered menu personalisation, and service robots are improving nutrition, efficiency, and resident quality of life.

The 2024 Care Chef of the Year winner Samuel Sewell will join forces with development chef at Unilever Food Solutions James Brown to give a demonstration highlighting the benefits of desserts.

The special celebrity guest chef is Cyrus Todiwala who will be showcasing some of his recipes from his new book ‘Modern Indian’ that can be translated into delicious small plate meals for residents.

Neel Radia, chair of the NACC, commented: “The Training and Development Forum is the ideal place to showcase excellence, so I very much look forward to coming together with members, colleagues and friends at the NACC TDF and annual gala dinner of recognition on the 1st and 2nd October in Nottingham.

“The NACC will continue to shine a light on the social care sector that is often undervalued. Everyone within our care has a right to receive good care which must include access to good nutrition and hydration as well as a safe environment in which to live. The current pressures on budgets continue to represent significant challenges in social care but our members, continue to rise above these challenges, through perseverance, dedication and with an innovative mindset.”
