23rd Aug 2022 - 06:00
NHS Supply Chain has developed the Chef’s Academy programme, which invites hospital chefs to take part in free training, watch live demonstrations and the opportunity to network with their peers.

There are still some places to attend the next session, which will take place at The Orange Kitchen Cookery School on Thursday 29 September 2022.

At each Chef’s Academy, the experienced team teach culinary skills through hands-on cooking, inspire through new recipes and provide the opportunity to learn new dishes developed by NHS Supply Chain using their approved products.

Nick Vadis, culinary specialist in the NHS Supply Chain: Food team and leading on the Chef’s Academies, said: “I’m passionate about food and want to support the growth of the NHS trusts that we work with. We’ve seen such a success so far with the Chef’s Academy and attendees leaving feeling inspired, with new skills and new ideas, as well as a bank of recipes they can take straight back to their kitchen.”

NHS Supply Chain were crowned the winners of the Training and Apprenticeship Award at the Public Sector Catering Awards, which took place on 7 April 2022. If you are an NHS chef and interested in signing up to the Chef’s Academy event in Birmingham, visit here.
