Nisbets Live event plants trees for a greener future
Abstract
Nisbets, a multi-national distributor to the food-service sector, reaffirmed its commitment to environmental stewardship during the recent Nisbets Live 2024 event where it planted one tree for every customer who attended.

The two-day catering equipment exhibition, held at the National Catering Equipment Centre in Bristol on March 20-21, was powered entirely by renewable and green energy. Each tree planted and maintained will absorb approximately 0.3 tonnes of CO2 during its lifetime.

The tree-planting initiative will focus on Kenyan mangroves, which thrive along coastlines and river deltas. These trees protect shorelines, provide shelter for marine life and contribute to the overall health of local ecosystems.

A spokesperson for Nisbets said: “We recognise that none of us would be here without trees. These magnificent organisms play a crucial role in our ecosystem, combating climate change by absorbing and storing harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.

“But it does not end there. Trees also act as natural air purifiers, releasing clean, breathable oxygen back into the air. They prevent flooding, reduce local temperatures, and provide vital habitats for wildlife.”

Nisbets Live 2024 had over 70 exhibitors showcasing ‘cutting-edge appliances to revolutionary kitchen solutions’. Chefs and product specialists showcased the functionality and benefits of the latest commercial kitchen innovations.
