Abstract
A new chef and business development manager has been appointed at pastry specialist Pidy UK.

Reporting to general manager Robert Whittle, Paul Eason's role will be mainly to raise the profile of Pidy and its products.  This will be achieved through one-to-one activities with wholesalers, cash and carries, exhibitions, recipe development and social networking sites.

Other tasks will include sales support and professional back up for caterers, bakers and industrial customers.

Eason has had 31 years’ experience in the food industry – many as a working chef in several different areas of the trade.   He comes to Pidy from Unilever Foodsolutions where he was a regional business development representative and chef coach, charged with promoting the Unilever brand.

Having been classically trained at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, he has also spent time with the Yates Group (catering operations manager), Charles Wells Ltd - Eagle Inns (catering development manager) and Gardner Merchants (executive head chef).

Whittle commented on the appointment: “Bringing a chef to the mix will add even greater professionalism to Pidy’s customer liaison plans. Paul’s skills as a chef, together with his catering and business experience, will make a valuable contribution to our growing team.”
