Abstract
Budding young chefs from Christleton Primary School and Waverton Community Primary School competed in a pizza cook-off recently with the chance of having their recipe put on the menu at the Ring O'Bells in Christleton.

Three children from each school were shortlisted out of over 100 entrants to go to the award-winning Ring O'Bells and make their pizzas with the help of the restaurant's pizza chef Andy Posniak. The pizzas produced ranged from more traditional ideas, such Waverton's five-year-old Robin Long's Greek Pizza which combined feta, olives, red onion and balsamic vinegar, to the 'weird and wonderful' like Christleton eight-year-old Rebecca Duffy's Bex's Delight, which put cheese, sweet corn, grapes and Smarties all onto one base. The overall winner of the competition was six-year-old Aiden Hulse from Christleton, who designed Tuna Bells which consisted of tuna, mushrooms and red onions and will now be on the menu at the Ring O'Bells and available to take home. Mrs Sue Buckley, deputy head of Waverton Community Primary School said: "It's the second year we have been involved in this competition at the Ring O'Bells. It's a great way for children to use a combination of ingredients creatively, see the process behind producing recipes and have the added bonus of a chance to see their pizza appear on the menu." All the children had a favourite moment during the pizza making process, from the initial design to throwing on the ingredients, but winner Aiden Hulse said his favourite part was simply "eating it". Ian Wade, owner of the Ring O'Bells, finished off by saying: "Well done to all of the children who entered - there were some fantastic ideas and it was a very difficult decision to pick a winner. A big thank you to David Harker, the head at Christleton Primary School and Sue Buckley, deputy head of Waverton Primary, for helping to organise this special event."
