Abstract
QHotels chef Mark Grigg has been named the winner of the 2009 Stratford-Upon-Avon Taste Trail which took place at the Stratford Food Festival last weekend.
Grigg was awarded first place for his 'Assiette of British Puddings', which included Baileys bread & butter pudding, autumn berry crumble and a warm chocolate brownie with cinnamon & ginger ice cream. The Trail saw some of the region's top restaurants tasked with creating an inspirational chocolate desert. The judging panel, headed up by celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, also included Stratford's Food Festival goers who toured each venue sampling the chocolate creations. Chris Steadman, general manager of QHotels property, The Stratford, said: "Mark and his team pride themselves in their 'one of a kind' approach to the design and execution of their menu, and it's great to see their hard work and creativity being recognised. "The award carries even more kudos when you consider the high standard of competitors and the fact that the judging process involved so many local residents and food lovers."
