Abstract
Liverpool and Tottenham topped the 2021 Sports Positive League, making them the ‘greenest clubs’ in the Premier League.

Liverpool FC secured the top spot thanks to the success of it’s the Red Way initiative, which was developed to create a better future for their communities, their people and the planet through every part of the organisation, including the introduction of plant-based and low carbon food.

Quorn became Liverpool FC’s official sustainable protein partner in 2020 helping the club contribute to greater food sustainability. The Quorn vegan steak pie is now a permanent addition to the match day menu at Anfield.

Gill Riley, marketing director at Quorn Food, said: “Liverpool FC fans swapping to a Quorn vegan steak pie during just one home game could help to save 102,600 kgCO₂e, which is the equivalent to the energy needed for 733 matches worth of floodlights in Anfield.

“We’re really proud that the launch of the Quorn vegan steak pie has played a major role in supporting LFC’s sustainability journey and contributing to the club’s success in the Sport Positive Sustainability League. We launched the Quorn vegan steak pie to show football fans how a simple swap to Quorn is not only easy and tasty, but it’s better for the environment too.”

Liverpool FC scored 23 points out of a maximum 24, highlighting the club’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
