Abstract
Alex Moody from Park Community School has won the South East School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) regional final.

He advances to the 2021 SCOTY national final, which will take place on 12-13 October in Birmingham. The five South East regional finalists had an 1 hour and 15 minutes to prepare, cook and serve a school compliant two-course menu that is suitable for 11-year-old pupils in primary year 6 or secondary year 7.

For his main course Moody created chargrilled teriyaki Quorn fillet served with sushi rice and rainbow vegetable rolls. For his dessert he made a Japanese green tea chawanmushi style cream with fresh fruit and shortbread crumbs.

Moody advances to the national final where he will be cooking for the 2021 SCOTY trophy, a work experience trip and the £1,000 cash prize.

School caterers and school meal providers can register for free entry to the LACA School Food Show in October to watch the live final.
