Scotland Food & Drink improves online hub

8th Jun 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Industry organisation Scotland Food & Drink has enhanced its online hub to improve its information about the organisation, its priorities and its members' benefits package.
Since its launch in 2003, www.scotlandfoodanddrink.org has been the first port of call for the industry's information needs, providing access to key resources to support company growth in areas such as sales and marketing, logistics, skills development, hygiene, safety and compliance. The site regularly attracts an average of 23,000 unique visitors per month. The website also has a News and Events Service and a Buyers' Guide promoting Scottish suppliers and products. These services, which are managed and funded by Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise, will continue to be available via the enhanced hub. Paul McLaughlin, chief executive of Scotland Food & Drink, said: "Our information hub has established itself as one of the top search results for Scottish food and drink companies seeking industry intelligence. Building on this, the new enhancements give us, as an organisation, a strong online presence as well as keeping the industry informed. "But the work doesn't stop here. Over the coming months we will be introducing further developments such as improved navigation so our users can identify relevant information quickly, new content areas, and a Members' Only Area where we can deliver the type of value-added information required to grow our industry. "Ultimately the ambition is for our hub to become recognised as the 'Expert Voice' of the industry providing rapid access to the latest market and consumer trend information, analysing the data and turning it into practical action. The idea is to make information easily accessible for the whole industry, so there is one point of access to find the right information at the right time and to help our companies act upon it."
