Signature Dining aiming to break Guinness World Record whilst celebrating VE Day
Abstract
To celebrate Victory in Europe Day (8th May), Signature Dining will be attempting a new Guinness World Record for virtually hosting the largest cream tea party, supported by Bidfood, Taylor’s Yorkshire Tea and Twinings.

Signature Dining is aiming to bring their 30 sites and over 1,700 residents together at 3pm via an online link to verify the attempt to break the world record. The independent care caterer says around 2,000 people, including staff, will be trying to break the record set in 2015 that stands at 620 people.

A spokesperson for Signature Dining said: “On 8 May 2025, we mark the historic 80th anniversary of VE Day, with the peoples, families and communities of our great nation coming together to unite and celebrate 80 years of peace since the end of World War II in Europe that so many millions paid the ultimate sacrifice to achieve it.

“VE Day 80 is not only a tribute to those who fought for the freedom we all enjoy today, but also a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity that have defined our country ever since.”

Signature Dining is dedicated to delivering high-quality, nutritious and engaging dining experiences for the care and welfare sector.

Led by founder and director Paul Robottom, Signature Dining combines culinary expertise with a passion for improving the well-being of care home residents, offering tailored catering services that reflect the tastes and needs of older individuals.
