Abstract
Sodexo is encouraging Scots to get fit this New Year with the launch of its eight-week Botanics Bootcamp at the Royal Botanic Garden (Edinburgh).

Taking place every Saturday throughout January and February, the ‘high intensity’ course is designed to ‘maximise calorie expenditure after the indulgent festive season’.

With personal trainer Jamie McDonough leading each class, a number of exercises including kettlebells, core training and battle rope challenges will target the whole body.

Sodexo general manager at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Fraser Sharp, said: “When the New Year rolls around people often make resolutions to get fit and start exercising, but don’t know where to start.

“The Botanics Bootcamp offers the perfect opportunity to improve fitness and lose weight, while in the beautiful surrounds of the Botanics”.

At £15 per person, per session, tickets include a freshly-made drink to give visitors ‘a burst of energy’ before the class, with a ‘recovery’ breakfast offered afterwards (at extra cost) in the Gateway Restaurant.

Sharp added: “Our chefs have been busy devising the ultimate post-workout breakfast full of nutrients, which will be served in the Gateway to allow participants to relax and get to know one another.

“With each exercise tailored to the individual and led by an experienced personal trainer, let 2019 be the year you stick to your fitness goals.”

Classes are tailored to suit all abilities and fitness levels, and will take place Saturday mornings from 8.45-9.45.
