Abstract
Sticky Toffee Pudding has been declared the favourite Great British Pudding, according to a poll by Elior Avenance and the Pudding Club of Great Britain.
The heart-warming dish topped the bill when contract caterer Elior Avenance joined forces with the Pudding Club in its quest to celebrate the very best of traditional British puddings and discover the nation's number one. The Pudding Club's top-twelve puddings were spotlighted on the menu throughout October and November and customers were given the opportunity to take part in a national poll to vote for their favourite. Peter Joyner, marketing director of contracts at Avenance, said: "All of the puddings went down well but as the vote shows, it was the Sticky Toffee Pudding that really hit the spot. It seems that the opportunity to enjoy dishes that evoke strong memories of childhood and which remain an important part of the British culinary culture was just too good to miss."
