Abstract
A star-studded roster of speakers will be offering university caterers ideas, insight and inspiration at the TUCO Summer Conference, which gets underway today at Loughborough University.

Three days of networking, learning and a heavyweight exhibition await university catering delegates. This year’s theme is Winning Tastes – a celebration of what we can do to achieve success through culinary creativity.

Among the speakers lined up, Fred Sirieix – renowned maître d’hôtel and TV food and service presenter – will offer engaging insight on service, while Martin Richards, a specialist in crisis preparation, will discuss persuasion and influence.

There will also be The Happy Pear – David and Stephen Flynn, twins from Ireland who founded The Happy Pear in 2004 - to inspire people to eat more vegetables.

The self-styled ‘UK Ambassador for Happiness’ Action Jackson will offer insights into the key to fulfilment in life and work, Jamil Qureshi will discuss maintaining high performance, and Katy Moses will delve into the topic of hospitality sector remuneration and staff retention.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 23, Alastair Campbell, former media adviser to prime minister Tony Blair, will take an insider’s look at politics at home and abroad, as well as what it takes to be a successful leader.

Closing the stellar line-up will be Dave Fishwick of ‘ The Bank of Dave’ – an expert on entrepreneurship, business and finance. Innovation and new products will be in abundance at the supplier exhibition, running alongside the speaker programme.

The Conference will culminate in the Gala Awards Dinner where peers and colleagues will be rewarded for their outstanding achievements and contributions to university catering.
