University of West London’s student-run restaurant opens for evening business

Abstract
The University of West London’s Pillars Restaurant is for the first time opening its doors to the public on one evening a week.
Pillars, the university's answer to fine dining, will now open on Thursday evenings during term time in addition to serving the public four days a week during lunchtime. To celebrate the evening openings, the restaurant will welcome customers with a menu filled with fine dining cuisine and music provided by students from the University's London College of Music. The award winning restaurant has a specially designed environment for training purposes. It is run by front of house lecturers and chef lecturers who give its hospitality and tourism students hands-on experience on fine dining. Students cook, serve and help to run the front of house, while diners get the opportunity to experience the art of service and a variety of different cuisines and themed events. "We are delighted the restaurant is opening on a Thursday evening during term time," said head of school Professor David Foskett. "The restaurant already has a great reputation for excellence and we are looking forward to showcasing further to the public the immense talent of our students."
