Abstract
Envar Composting and Countrystyle Recycling partnered with Vegware to launch collections for compostable foodservice disposables in Cambridgeshire.

Countrystyle’s new trade waste collection service and Envar’s composting capabilities together bring sustainable solution waste management to catered offices, college restaurants and schools.

Eilidh Brunton, senior waste management consultant at Vegware, said: “Foodservice wants hygiene and sustainability. Vegware disposables are ideal for socially distanced catering, but also meet the desire of diners for an environmentally sustainable solution to disposable waste.

“Vegware holds the deepest set of compostability certifications in the sector, and now our clients in Cambridge can compost their used Vegware products. We are delighted to be working with Countrystyle Recycling and Envar Composting to ensure our customers can meet their sustainability goals.”

All Vegware containers, cups and cutlery can go in the Countrystyle food waste bin. Within a maximum of ten weeks of collection Envar Composting will transform these materials into compost for farmland.

Envar’s managing director Andy Sibley, added: “We have worked closely with Vegware for some time recycling products from their customers in London and the South East, to ensure effective composting to our required quality standards and to feedback ways in which contamination can be reduced. We look forward to rolling out this established partnership in the Cambridgeshire area.”
