Wilson Vale further expands educational portfolio
Abstract
Wilson Vale has gained a catering contract with Nethergate School in Clifton, Nottingham, under a one-year deal worth £65,000.

The contract caterer began providing their services to the special needs school on 29th June when they took over the service from Nottingham City Council.

Andrew Wilson, co-founder and managing director of Wilson Vale, said: "Our team presented to the School Council and then to the Board of Governors under a competitive tender process, each time cooking live with other contractors. It is great that our focus on fresh, wholesome food appealed to Nethergate School where pastoral care is central to everything."

Tracey Ydlibi, head teacher, said: "Our school provides pupils with a calm, safe and supportive learning environment in which they can thrive. We set aspirational targets, not only in academic subjects but in other areas of development such as personal, social and behavioural, which are as equally important to our pupils. We wanted a like-minded catering partner who would support our ethos and ensure that the school lunch-time experience is as healthy, enticing and positive as possible for our pupils."

Willson Vale’s portfolio of 26 schools represents almost one third of the business, with several of those special needs schools.

Wilson added: “We first started working within this highly specialised area in Nottinghamshire in 2004 and have grown our reputation and relationships with other schools consistently since then. Our crafted fresh food and individual approach makes a huge impact and to see the delight on the children's faces at lunchtime is very rewarding for our teams.

“Time and time again, our business development success comes down to our people. It is they who inspire confidence and trust - so important in a school environment where parents, teachers and governors expect the very best for the children."
